redwelly bringing gardens to life across the country

Site: Trocadero Court, Normanton
Client: Walbrook Housing Association
Partner: PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
Date: 29th March 2007

Tocadero Court is a warden controlled site owned by Spirita. The site needed some revamping as the tenants needed an outdoor space which could be a safe and secure environment for them to have access to.

Design of the Garden

The design incorporated:

  • Removal of the existing turf and digging out to replant.
  • Creating an area that a communal event could be held and the community could enjoy their site in security
  • Seated area tidy up and removal of weed and recommisioning of the pond.

Event Day

Main challenges of the site were:

  • Total clearance of the existing site to create bare ground.
  • Tidying up existing boundaries and shrubbery.

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP wanted to do a team building event which would launch their community work in Derby as they had similar projects established in Nottingham and Leicester. This was the first time that they had encouraged their executive team out on site.

They have now adopted this site in the hope that they will be able to do further work for the residents.
